What does it truly mean to answer God's call without reservation? In this powerful message rooted in 1 Kings 19:19-21, we explore the radical moment when Elisha, an ordinary farmer, encountered the prophet Elijah and made one of the most decisive choices in all of Scripture. Rather than simply walking away from his old life, Elisha burned his plow and slaughtered his oxen, eliminating any possibility of turning back. This act was not destruction for its own sake but a bold declaration that there was no plan B. The message challenges us to examine the things in our own lives that are not necessarily sinful but have quietly become anchors keeping us from moving forward into what God has called us to do. A packed schedule, the fear of what others think, the comfort of familiar routines, old identities we cannot seem to shake, even past successes can become the very weight that slows us down. Drawing from Hebrews 12:1-2, we are reminded that the race God has set before us demands that we strip off every encumbrance, every unnecessary weight, so that we can run with endurance. The question this message leaves ringing in our hearts is a simple but penetrating one: what plow are we still holding onto, and are we ready to burn it?
